to have loved, to have thought, to have done
/Just some quotes from books I've been reading and experimenting with "P" and "C" variations. Writing out Pasadena, California and Paulo Coelho will do that to you!
I finished Coelho's, The Valkyries, last week, and while I didn't love it, I did enjoy pulling pretty quotes like these. I adored some of his other books like The Alchemist and Veronika Decides to Die, but this one just didn't resonate with me as much. That said, my Kindle clipboard is brimming with P's poetic brilliance, so I suppose I did come away with a thing or two.
The other quote is from 19th century English poet Matthew Arnold, who's quoted in the book I'm reading now, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. What an adorable title, right?! Loving the endearing characters in this book and having strong urges to visit / permanently relocate to the Channel Islands.
When I find quotes I love like these, I can't help but put pen to paper! If you know me at all (or if you follow my Pinterest comings and goings and pinnings), you know I'm a quote junkie. Calligraphy just provides this amazingly fun outlet for my (somewhat) healthy obsession.
For the bottom Coelho quote, I attempted more of a freehand, modern approach, but it just looks untidy -- still pretty in its own right though, I s'pose! In the future, I want to work on more of an extended script, but for now, I'm still working on the basics. I'm seriously not liking the current state of my "k" these days (see lower case version below), and this simply won't do for reasons I'm sure you can surmise. Happy Tuesday from P, C! XO, K :)
